We spent part of our sunny, warm saturday digging in the dirt making a new strawberry/rhubarb garden in the corner of our yard. I wanted to make some more space for vegetables but I wasn't willing to give up all the strawberries. I love seeing the kids scouring each plant to find some ripe fruit, it reminds me of my experiences with the raspberry bushes growing up. So I decided to just make another bed just for the strawberries.
Josiah helped with the shovel and Eve loved the having her bare toes in the dirt and the "snakes" (that's earthworms to you). She said they liked her fingernails when she held them.

Yesterday, Ethan took a plastic container from the fridge and showed me his worms, which came from his yard. Then he played with them until they just died from the attention.
