funny words

Here are some funny things the kids are saying these days.....
Josiah: "Mom, is flabbergasted a word?"
"Yes. Would you like to know what it means?"
"I already know what it means. It means Shocked or surprised"
"Oh..."

Eve:
She says "Thank you" with a very high pitched "you". She said her first sentence the other day "More milk please" (She is very polite). When she gets frustrated she sometimes cries "It can't be". And when she drops something....."Oh crap" (I guess that isn't very polite).
Right now she is putting a blanket on the dog, Kaslo, and gave her a doll to sleep with. Kaslo seems to like it!

Isaac:
Well, he still only says "Whaaaa".

Flabbergasted - my guess is he was testing you. Smart kid. I bet he heard Dad say it, and asked him what it meant. Then he wanted to see if you knew the word. When he knew that you knew, he wanted you to know that he knew. You know?

But why would he test me? Does he just want to see if I am as smart as daddy?

He's such a smart boy, I think he might want to know if there are other things Mom and Dad react to differently. You know - Mom says "Put on a coat" and Dad doesn't. Is "flabbergasted" the same for Mom and Dad. Or maybe he needed verification from you both before he started using the word.
