In a lucky and ironic turn of events, two of my favorite bands came to Spokane Arena in November. The Nine Inch Nails concert blew out the microphone on my iphone so you can't hear anything on the Pearl Jam video. NIN was a sensory explosion of multiple mediums of lights and props and fog and more explosions of choreographed exotic light arrangements coming down on long grids and twirling around in the air. Those videos didn't turn out so well but in this one you can see the band. Rolling Stone raved about it and I saw why. At Pearl Jam, Vedder interacted with the crowd a lot in an entertaining way, at one point bringing up a guy who had a sign in the audience requesting to head bang with his baseball bat sized dread locks one last time on stage before Vedder shaved his head. He also made up all kinds of sounds to well known songs and had the audience sing them back to him. It was an intense experience to have with others who appreciate their music.
