Peach Cobbler with Gingerbread Men
This peach cobbler was inspired by my grandma who made us one last time we visited her. The kids loved making the topping into gingerbread men and spreading them over the top. I think it turned out so fun and yummy! Here is the recipe:
- Two cans sliced peaches drained and spread over the bottom of an 8x8 pan
Mix in a separate bowl
- 1 1/3 cup whole wheat flour
- 2 Tablespoons sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 5 Tbsp cold butter cut into small pieces
Cut butter into dry ingredients using a pastry blender or a fork until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs. Add
- 1/2 cup milk
Mix with wooden spoon and knead in bowl if necessary to pick up all the small pieces. Roll out onto a lightly floured surface. Cut into desired shapes and place on top of the peaches. Brush tops with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 375 degrees for 40 minutes.
