I didn't make it, unfortunately

Here are a few pictures I found on my camera. Eve is wearing this cute hat given to her by her Grandlee (Thank you!). I've had it around the house for at least a year and now it fits her perfectly. I often think about how happy I am to have a girl!
We've shown our house to a few people finally, but no offers yet. I am expecting this to take a while. Since there are so many people desperate to sell their houses around here prices are being driven way down. I guess this is happening everywhere.
I am also thrilled to have inaugurated out first black president yesterday! What an exciting moment in history to take part in. It made me so impressed by our society's ability to improve itself in a relatively short amount of time. I saw an interview with the Bush family several weeks ago. The interviewer (Charlie Gibson) asked George and Laura if they would have thought that our country would elect a black president in their lifetime and they both said "No". Then they asked their daughter and she said "Yes" she did believe it would happen in her lifetime. Within one generation the thinking about racism in our country has changed dramatically. That is very encouraging to me.

Yes, Jill, I am celebrating the inauguration, too. Imagine how the hearts of all minorities are swelling now realizing "the sky's the limit" more than they've ever done so before. It's joyous, and I'm proud of the citizens of this country.

When I see the joyful face of a black person on TV, like Jesse Jackson, or Beyonce, I get all choked up. What a dramatic upturn after the past 8 years. Hope it continues.
